Tier on Tier Plantation Shutters
There are four main styles of plantation shutters available, with Tier on Tier being the most versatile option. Although suitable for any window, this style is particularly popular for larger windows, such as Victorian sash windows. However, other styles may be more appropriate for smaller windows.
Tier on Tier shutters are designed with separate panels for the upper and lower halves of the windows, allowing for independent opening. Keeping the bottom section closed provides privacy while opening the upper section allows natural light to flood in.
To minimize intrusion into the room, it’s advisable to use narrower panels on Tier-on-Tier shutters. This is especially true for bay windows, where wider panels may cover the outer panels when opened. Shutter Master prioritizes both practicality and aesthetics when designing shutters, and the number of glass panes in the windows often determines the number of panels in the shutters.
Overall, Tier on Tier shutters offers a classic style that can be customized to fit any mood or preference.
Full height shutters literally cover the full height of a window and the panels can also be split with a divider or mid-rail. Up to two mid-rails can be added to each panel if required.
